Common Failure Modes
Symptoms: Photos or video are soft, black, distorted or fail to focus where focus is supported.
Likely areas: Lens, focus mechanism, sensor path, settings and connector.
Check the lens and capture settings before treating the sensor as defective.
Symptoms: Horizon tilt, vibration, overload or abnormal gimbal movement.
Likely areas: Gimbal, mount, dampers, firmware and calibration.
Do not force the gimbal; verify a controlled stabilization test after service.
Symptoms: Recording stops, files are missing or the camera is not recognized.
Likely areas: microSD/CINESSD, corresponding Inspire 2 License Key, recording settings, firmware, mount and data path.
Check format entitlement and media path before treating a missing advanced codec as a camera fault.
Symptoms: Damaged housing, scratched optics, wet contacts or corrosion after exposure.
Likely areas: Housing, lens, contacts and internal power path.
Follow the model-specific IP rating and isolate a damaged unit before reuse.
Repair Notes
Confirm the exact Zenmuse camera, lens and aircraft/firmware pairing; similar bodies do not prove interchangeability.
Test image, interchangeable-lens focus and ordinary H.264/H.265 microSD capture. Test CinemaDNG/ProRes only after confirming the matching Inspire 2 License Key and DJI CINESSD.
Power off before detaching the payload. Inspect connector contacts and gimbal movement without forcing the axes.
After service, verify stabilization, representative still/video capture and file integrity in a controlled test.
