Common Failure Modes
Symptoms: The V1 is detected but speech or file playback is silent, weak or distorted.
Likely areas: Volume, source file/TTS settings, speaker, power and SKYPORT contacts.
Check a supported audio source and volume before inferring a speaker hardware fault.
Symptoms: Live or file broadcasting does not start as expected.
Likely areas: Aircraft feature support, DJI Pilot 2 mode, firmware and audio format.
Real-time broadcasting is specified for Matrice 400; verify model-specific function limits.
Symptoms: The speaker does not tilt to its commanded range or the aircraft does not recognize it.
Likely areas: Mount, gimbal axis, firmware, power and connector contacts.
Power off before inspecting the quick-release mount; avoid forcing the tilt axis.
Symptoms: Damaged housing, wet contacts, corrosion or abnormal heat after use.
Likely areas: Housing, seals, contacts and power path.
IP54 is not a waterproof guarantee; remove a damaged unit from service pending inspection.
Repair Notes
Confirm V1, aircraft/controller firmware, audio source and DJI Pilot 2 support; Matrice 400 has additional live-broadcast functions.
Power off before detaching V1. Inspect SKYPORT contacts and the tilt axis without forcing it.
Test recorded speech, imported MP3/AAC/WAV and text-to-speech separately at conservative volume; log any distortion or dropouts.
After service, verify intelligible audio, tilt control and a controlled short-range broadcast test before flight use.
