About the DJI Zenmuse H20T

The DJI Zenmuse H20T adds a radiometric 640×512 thermal camera to the H20's zoom, wide and laser-rangefinder sensors — a quad-sensor payload for Matrice 300 RTK; the current DJI Matrice 350 RTK specification also lists H20T as supported.

Common Failure Modes

Thermal image or measurement anomaly medium

Symptoms: The thermal view is missing, uneven or inconsistent with a known reference.

Likely areas: Lens/window condition, gain and palette settings, FFC/calibration state, environment and sensor path.

Check the exact model and DJI thermal test procedure before declaring the sensor defective.

Visible image or gimbal problem medium

Symptoms: A visible channel is unclear where fitted, or gimbal movement is unstable.

Likely areas: Lens, focus/zoom where fitted, gimbal, mount and firmware.

Keep visible and thermal channel symptoms separate in the service record.

Payload recognition or control loss high

Symptoms: The aircraft does not detect the payload or a channel/control is unavailable.

Likely areas: Supported aircraft/controller firmware, connector contacts, power and data link.

Power off before reseating; a firmware or pairing limit is not proof of board damage.

Moisture or optical damage high

Symptoms: Wet contacts, damaged housing, scratched window or corrosion after exposure.

Likely areas: Seals, windows, contacts and internal power path.

Follow the exact model IP rating; no Zenmuse payload should be treated as submersible.

Repair Notes

Model and channels

Identify the exact thermal model and its visible/thermal channels before interpreting an image or temperature reading.

Thermal checks

Record ambient conditions, gain, palette and calibration/FFC behavior using a controlled reference; do not infer sensor failure from one scene.

Mount safety

Power off before detaching the payload. Inspect connector contacts, housing and optical surfaces without forcing gimbal axes.

Return to service

Retest the available channels, gimbal and temperature workflow against model-specific DJI guidance.

DJI Zenmuse H20T — frequently asked questions

Which DJI aircraft is the DJI Zenmuse H20T compatible with?
DJI lists Matrice 300 RTK; Matrice 350 RTK (listed in current DJI M350 RTK supported-gimbal specifications). Confirm the exact aircraft, gimbal port and current aircraft/remote firmware before mounting. The older payload-specific support page may name only its original aircraft; the current platform specification is the source for the later model.
Does the DJI Zenmuse H20T have a thermal camera?
Thermal camera: 640×512 @30 Hz VOx, 12 μm pitch, NETD ≤50 mK, -40–150°C / -40–550°C scene range.
What type of payload is the DJI Zenmuse H20T?
The DJI Zenmuse H20T is a quad-sensor payload (zoom + wide + thermal + laser rangefinder).
How much does the DJI Zenmuse H20T weigh?
167×135×161 mm / 828±5 g.
What is the DJI Zenmuse H20T's ingress protection (IP) rating?
IP44. Payloads are weather-resistant, not waterproof — never submerge them.
What should I check if DJI Zenmuse H20T has a problem?
If a thermal view or reading looks wrong, check the exact payload model, lens/window, gain, palette, calibration/FFC and test conditions. Keep visible-channel, thermal-channel and aircraft-link symptoms separate.
Where can I get a DJI Zenmuse H20T repaired?
Request an assessment through Reboot Hub. Serviceability, parts, cost and timing depend on the exact unit and are confirmed before a repair is accepted. Open a repair ticket.
Can H20T measure temperature over its whole operating range?
No. DJI lists payload operation from -20 to 50 °C, but temperature measurement only from -10 to 50 °C. The thermal camera scene range is a separate specification.
