Manual-based DJI Inspire 2 guide

Record the system actually present, not a presumed cinema configuration: DJI Inspire 2 documentation identifies a configurable camera and gimbal platform, a paired TB50 battery route, a microSD path and an optional CINESSD path. An individual aircraft must still be documented for the installed camera, lens, gimbal, two batteries, controller, storage and supplied accessories.

Start by identifying the actual camera and lens

DJI describes the Inspire 2 camera unit as independent from the image processor, allowing different gimbal and camera systems to be mounted. Its manual gives the Zenmuse X5S as the camera example: a 4/3-inch CMOS sensor with 20.8 MP effective pixels, interchangeable Micro Four Thirds lenses and a three-axis gimbal. It also lists a distinct Zenmuse X7 flight-time reference. This makes it unsafe to title every Inspire 2 as though it has one specific camera, lens or recording route.

For the X5S example, the manual lists 5.2K CinemaDNG at 30 fps, Apple ProRes, 4K at 60 fps in H.264, up to 14-still burst shooting, and DNG RAW burst capability when DJI CINESSD is in use. Those are documented model-system capabilities. They do not establish that a specific aircraft has the X5S, a given lens, a CINESSD, activated recording formats or current camera performance.

The X5S gimbal is described with a controllable pitch range from -130 to +40 degrees and pan to plus or minus 320 degrees. The manual warns to use the camera system within its documented operating conditions. A careful item record therefore shows the fitted camera, lens, gimbal connector and current physical state rather than relying only on a generic Inspire 2 body photograph.

The manual identifies the Inspire 2 Intelligent Flight Battery as 4,280 mAh and 22.8 V with smart charge and discharge functions. It describes both batteries powering the aircraft together.

Two batteries with similar properties

DJI recommends pairing batteries and says the app can prompt when unpaired batteries are in use. This describes a system requirement, not the history or remaining service life of a supplied pair.

Battery LEDs display current level, while the manual describes automatic discharge, balancing, charging temperature protection and a cell-damage prompt in DJI GO 4. None of those features establishes capacity, prior cycles or future performance for the two physical batteries present with an individual aircraft. The record should identify both batteries, show their shells and terminals, and associate any observed LEDs or messages with the time observed.

DJI lists approximate maximum flight times of 25 minutes with Zenmuse X5S, 23 minutes with Zenmuse X7 and 27 minutes with Zenmuse X4S. It states these references were laboratory hover tests at sea level in no wind. The separate charging hub can charge up to four batteries and prioritizes the pair with more stored power, but a hub must be named from the exact kit rather than presumed to be included.

The X5S example lists a camera microSD slot and recommends UHS-3 media. The manual says the aircraft came with a 16 GB microSD card, but a particular item still needs its present media identified directly.

The aircraft diagram identifies a DJI CINESSD slot. The manual describes fitting CINESSD with the aircraft powered off and exporting through the CINESSD Station. Its presence and capacity are exact-item facts.

The manual separates SSD and microSD outputs. For the X5S example it lists CinemaDNG and ProRes on SSD, while microSD supports MOV and MP4 video routes. That distinction should remain explicit: a specification can describe available architecture without proving a media device, file, recording format or accessory supplied with an individual aircraft.

Build the exact aircraft record around named systems

The Inspire 2 diagram identifies the FPV camera, forward and downward vision systems, upward infrared sensor, transformation mechanism, Gimbal Connector V2.0, paired Intelligent Flight Batteries, microSD slot, CINESSD slot, USB mode switch, USB port, linking button, motors and 1550T propellers. The manual also lists dual IMUs and barometers as redundancy features. These facts provide a disciplined inspection order without pretending that a photo of one area verifies every system.

  • Identify the actual aircraft body, fitted gimbal, camera and lens.
  • Record the two physical TB50 batteries separately from generic runtime references.
  • Distinguish microSD media from an optional CINESSD route.
  • Show the transformation mechanism, sensors, propellers and named ports as physical observations.
  • Name controller, charger, hub and accessories only where they are actually supplied.
  • Keep current test observations separate from manual-derived system facts.

This structure makes an older professional platform easier to evaluate without turning an upgrade narrative into an unsupported claim. It gives readers and agents a clear source layer, a clear individual-item layer and a visible boundary between them.

DJI Inspire 2 questions

Does Inspire 2 always include a Zenmuse X5S or X7 camera?

No. DJI describes the gimbal and camera as a configurable system. An individual aircraft record must name and show the camera, lens and gimbal actually supplied.

Does the published flight-time reference establish the condition of a supplied battery pair?

No. DJI states that its maximum references were laboratory hover tests at sea level in no wind. The two fitted TB50 batteries still require direct present-state evidence.

Does a CINESSD specification prove that a CINESSD or media is included?

No. CINESSD is a separate storage path. Presence, capacity and supplied accessories must be established from the exact item record.
