About Us : Reboot Hub

It is not only "About Us" but it's about you.

You’re here because you believe that premium technology should believe premium technology is build-to-last, not destined-for-waste. You want the performance you can trust, the value that makes sense, and a partner who treats your gear with your respect.

We’re here to make it more than just a belief.

Small workshop on fixing drone

Our story: Born from Frustration, Built on Precision

It started with a shattered drone and a repair bill that felt like a ransom. Our founder, Thomas Lau, asked a simple question: "Why does 'refurbished' have to mean 'compromise'?"

Educated in the exacting standards of Swiss hospitality at EHL, he decided that the “top” of the tech repair world should be better than this. It should match the transparency, precision, and client focus that your host expects every time they check into a 5-star hotel. So, the founder partnered with Alan Li, a photographer who knew firsthand how a faulty gimbal could ruin the perfect shot.

Together, from a small workshop, we began our mission: to reboot not just devices, but the very standard for refurbished tech. We opened up our process, showed the broken boards, and proved that with the right expertise, almost anything could be brought back to life, better than before.

Founded on a Partnership of Precision and Performance

At Reboot Hub we're changing what people think of refurbished tech.

We combined of both worlds in our partnership – Thomas Lau from École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) where he refined to a fine Chinese art the concept of global service excellence, and Alex Li who is known for his remarkable videography and photography work and inspired obsession with all things drones.

We asked a new question together: What if “refurbished” wasn’t a question mark, but a guarantee? What if it signalled that rather than merely repaired, the device was reborn to a standard of revival which celebrates its original engineering and is tested for real-world performance? This shared belief is the DNA of all we do.

Our Beliefs, in Practice

We don't have a "quality" poster on the wall. We have these principles instead:

  • We believe in transparency, not sales pitches. That's why you'll get a detailed report with photos before you pay for a repair. No hidden fees, no surprises.

  • We believe in fixing the root cause, not the symptom. While others swap entire boards, we perform microscopic, chip-level surgery. It's harder for us, but it's smarter and often more affordable for you.

  • We believe your gear deserves a second act. Every device we reboot is one less piece of e-waste and a victory for a more sustainable tech lifecycle.

Our Founders: Where Service Excellence Meets Artistic Vision

Founder of Reboot Hub, Thomas Lau

Our story is one of synthesis. The formative years in Hong Kong instilled a respect for efficiency and real-world value. The secondary education in Singapore, a global hub of technology and innovation, provided a foundational appreciation for engineering and systematic thinking.

Finally, the transformative experience at EHL in Switzerland codified an uncompromising standard for quality and client service. It was at the intersection of these three cultures that the vision for Reboot Hub became clear: to build a company where the disciplined precision of a Swiss watchmaker meets the forward-thinking efficiency of Asia's tech capitals.

Thomas' unique background laid the foundation for Reboot Hub's service and operational framework. When it comes to technical validation and artistic performance, that vision is brought to life by our Co-Founder, Alan Li.

This hands-on, creator-centric perspective ensures every device we certify doesn't just meet a spec sheet—it excels in the real-world conditions where it matters most. Alan's critical eye and artistic sensibility are integral to our final calibration process, guaranteeing that a Reboot Hub-certified device is ready for your most ambitious projects.

    The Humans Behind the Hub

We're engineers, tinkerers, and storytellers who geek out over a perfect calibration. You might find us debating the best soldering techniques or sharing customer flight videos in our group chat.

    Our Philosophy: The Reboot Standard

    Precision with Purpose

Based on Swiss-made quality, we don’t stop at simple functions. Each one is meticulously calibrated and completely tested down to the component level. It doesn't just work; it performs to its original specification.

    Clarity by Design

We don’t believe that trust can be built in the dark. It’s an open book, our whole certification process. Beginning with the first diagnosis, to the last quality control check, we maintain an unprecedented level of transparency--you deserve to know what you are purchasing.

    Sustainable Advantage

We give advanced technology a second life. We offer our customers the most exceptional value in quality refurbished and pre-owned devices while making a positive environmental impact by championing a sustainable, circular economy for electronics.

    Our Story in the Press

    The Spark of an Idea

The journey began with a simple family conversation about China's booming "Low-altitude economy" policy. Our founder, Thomas Lau, identified a critical gap: a severe shortage of professional drone repair technicians, especially for overseas users, where services were scarce and prohibitively expensive. Leaving a successful career in the international hospitality industry, Thomas Lau, together with Alan Li to start up a brand called, Reboot Hub.

But Don't Just Take Our Word For It

“From my skepticism of even shipping from Spain to utter amazement – what a ride! The drone took less time to arrive than many local packages; it came in what felt like a cradle of packaging material. The unboxing alone was an experience in high quality. Reboot Hub doesn’t rebuild your product; they handle trust across entire continents.”.

“What was deemed ‘obsolete’ by the ‘official’ service is a tinkerer’s challenge. Not only they brought it back to life, but they also took their time to explain the obsolete part while replacing it with its modern equivalent. It’s not service, it’s a groundbreaking and to some extent preservation.”

“This was far from a breeze. I’ve sent them a unit with intermittent power faults that remained unrepeatable; it had me cancel two filming assignments. A cracked solder joint that you needed to squint to see that’s what was wrong. That was half a year ago, and I’ve never had issues with it since. Why don’t other services find that?”.

“I’m a startup; a buck saved is a buck earned. However, the most valuable part of my experience wasn’t the fix – it was the price. No surprises – all the costs were included in the initial quote. There was no ‘surprise’ email telling me that something needed replacing. This precision is what let me build my financial strategies.”

“It’s more than drones; it’s how we work. This wasn’t a gadget; it was a tool. They understood me as a businessman and customer; the timelines were realistic; they even lent me a unit to keep working. This is how you repair something that’s not just gear.”
