Pre-Owned Drone Inspection — 40 Checkpoints

Every pre-owned DJI drone listed on Reboot Hub passes this inspection before going on sale. Graded units that fail any category are removed from the pre-owned pipeline.

Important: CAT 02–05 (battery, flight, imaging, software tests) are only performed on units that have been previously activated. Units that have never been powered on (Grade A+ Flawless) undergo CAT 01 structural inspection only — their condition is verified by cosmetic assessment and factory-sealed status.
What Every Buyer Receives
Three documents sent before your drone ships
01 — Sent to You
Condition Photos
Full photographic record of the unit's exterior and key components, documented before packaging.
02 — Sent to You
Power-On Video
A video recording of the drone powering on and operating normally — attached to your order confirmation email.
03 — Sent to You
Product Evaluation Report
A formal inspection document covering SN verification, physical assessment, and quality assurance findings for your specific unit.
Buyer Protection
Full SN After Delivery
The complete serial number is provided after you confirm receipt — ensuring what arrives matches exactly what was inspected and documented.
CAT 01 Structural Integrity 8 checkpoints
  • Shell and chassis — all surfaces
Checked for cracks, chips, deformation, and deep scratches on all exterior panels.
  • Arm fold mechanism
Each arm folded and unfolded — checked for smooth movement, firm lock engagement, and no lateral play.
  • Landing gear
Checked for bending, cracking, or loose attachment hardware.
  • Motor mounts
All four motor mounts checked for wobble or loose fasteners.
  • Propeller blades
Each blade inspected for micro-cracks, chips, or deformation.
  • Gimbal damper balls
Checked for tears, deformation, or missing damper balls. Mount alignment verified.
  • Port visual inspection
External visual check of USB-C port, microSD slot, battery bay contacts, and obstacle avoidance sensor windows — damage, debris, and deformation.
  • External screws
All accessible screws verified present, flush, and not stripped.
CAT 02 Battery & Power 6 checkpoints
  • Battery health %
Read via DJI Fly / GO4 app diagnostic. Disclosed on every listing.
  • Cycle count
Read and published on every listing. Logged in inspection record.
  • Battery case integrity
Visual check for swelling, cracks, or deformation of the battery housing.
  • Battery contact pins
Checked for oxidation, bending, or damage on both battery and drone bay contacts.
  • Charging test
Battery charged to 100% — verified no errors, no abnormal charge rate.
  • Charging temperature
Monitored during charge cycle for abnormal heat — no thermal anomaly permitted.
CAT 03 Flight Systems 10 checkpoints
  • IMU calibration
6-axis IMU calibrated via DJI app before test flight.
  • Compass status
Compass checked via app — no calibration error or abnormal reading.
  • Motor startup
All motors spin up normally — no stuttering, no abnormal sound.
  • Motor temperature — test flight
Checked for abnormal heat in any motor during and after test flight.
  • Forward obstacle avoidance
Sensor response tested during flight — must react and brake before reaching obstacle.
  • Rear obstacle avoidance
    Same protocol as forward sensor.
  • Hover stability
Downward VPS tested — drone must hold position without significant drift in stable conditions.
  • Return-to-home
RTH triggered and verified — drone returns and lands near the takeoff point.
  • Attitude mode control
Manual stick inputs tested — all axes respond correctly with no delay or erratic behavior.
  • No error codes
Remote controller and DJI app show no unresolved error or warning messages after flight.
CAT 04 Imaging Systems 8 checkpoints
  • Gimbal level
Camera horizon verified level during hover.
  • Gimbal range of motion
Pitch and yaw axes checked across full range — no binding, stutter, or restricted movement.
  • Camera sensor — dead pixels
Flat-field image check for dead or hot pixel clusters.
  • Lens cleanliness
Internal cleanliness checked — no dust clusters, fungus, or scratches affecting image quality.
  • 4K video recording
Test recording at native 4K — verified clean footage, no frame drops or corruption.
  • 1080p video recording
Test recording at 1080p — clean and stable.
  • OIS — image stabilisation
Stabilisation tested — output compared against expected factory performance.
  • Autofocus and exposure
Still photo taken — autofocus and auto-exposure checked for accuracy.
CAT 05 Communication & Software 8 checkpoints
  • RC pairing
Remote controller paired successfully — no errors during binding.
  • Stick calibration
Both sticks calibrated — center position accurate.
  • Video transmission quality
Link quality and stability verified during test flight (OcuSync / O3 / O4 depending on model).
  • Firmware
Updated to latest stable DJI firmware release before listing. Version recorded.
  • DJI Fly / GO4 — full connection
All standard app features accessible with no errors.
  • Flight log review
Flight history reviewed for crash events, signal loss incidents, and total flight time. Results noted on listing where relevant.
  • Activation status
Verified clean activation — no geo-lock, no account flag, no regional restrictions.

Repair Service Standard

Every repair job follows a documented 7-phase process. You receive a Comprehensive Evaluation Report with photos and a full video recording of the repair — before you approve a single dollar of work.

Free Evaluation, No Surprises
We assess your drone first and send you a full Evaluation Report with photos and a repair quotation. No repairs begin without your written approval. If you decline, the device is returned as-is — diagnostic is at our cost.
Full Video Documentation
The entire repair process is recorded on video and sent to you alongside the final report. You can see exactly what was opened, replaced, and tested — nothing is hidden.
Genuine OEM Parts Only
All replacement components are purchased directly from DJI. Broken original parts are used as 1-to-1 exchange evidence per DJI's OEM parts program — we do not use third-party or aftermarket components.
MOHRSS Level 3 Technicians
All repairs are performed or supervised by MOHRSS Level 3 certified technicians — the highest professional drone repair qualification in the industry, requiring demonstrated chip-level diagnostic competency.

7-Phase Repair Protocol

1
Drop-off Documentation
Full photo record of the device at drop-off: all exterior surfaces, visible damage close-ups, screen/display condition, battery and charging port area. Condition at receipt is locked in before any work begins.
2
Physical Inspection
Complete hardware assessment: housing, camera lens, controls, antenna and sensor array, water damage indicators, and all physical damage documented in detail.
3
Electronic Functional Testing
Power system, gimbal, sensor array, software system, and all electronic functions tested and documented. Root cause analysis written up — explaining exactly why the issue occurred and what is needed to fix it.
4
Evaluation Report & Customer Approval
Comprehensive Evaluation Report sent to you by email — including findings, root cause analysis, transparent repair procedure, and quotation. Repair only proceeds after your explicit approval. If declined, device returned within 2-3 business days at no charge.
5
Repair Execution (Video Recorded)
Repair carried out per the approved plan using genuine OEM parts. The full process is video recorded. Component-level work — including desoldering, cable routing, and chassis migration where required — is performed by MOHRSS Level 3 certified technicians.
6
Post-Repair Quality Control & Test Flight
IMU and compass calibrated to the new hardware. Full functional test performed. Controlled hover test confirms any flight issues are 100% resolved before shipment. Device cleaned and detailed using Meguiar's interior detailer — removing residual oils, restoring original luster.
7
Packaging & Return
Device packaged with specialist padding to protect newly replaced components in transit. Final Evaluation Report, video recording, and warranty documentation sent with the device.
Repair Warranty: 30 days covering replaced components and workmanship. Exclusions: new physical impacts, water ingress, or third-party disassembly after return.
