Common Failure Modes

Image, zoom or focus issue medium

Symptoms: Visible image is soft, black or unstable, or zoom/focus fails where fitted.

Likely areas: Lens/window, camera settings, focus/zoom path, gimbal and data link.

Separate optical, control and transmission symptoms before choosing parts.

Rangefinder or targeting issue medium

Symptoms: A distance/targeting function gives no reading or an implausible result where fitted.

Likely areas: Target reflectivity, visibility, safe range, laser window and mode settings.

Compare the exact model’s official ranging conditions; do not assume a sensor fault from a poor target.

Gimbal or mount control problem high

Symptoms: Gimbal movement is abnormal or the aircraft does not recognize the payload.

Likely areas: Supported aircraft/firmware, SKYPORT contacts, power and gimbal.

Power off before inspecting the detachable mount; do not force the axes.

Ingress or impact damage high

Symptoms: Damaged housing, wet contacts, scratches or corrosion after exposure.

Likely areas: Housing, seals, optics and contacts.

Use the model-specific IP rating; never treat the payload as waterproof.

Repair Notes

Identity

Confirm H20, H30 or Z30 and the exact aircraft/firmware pairing; camera and ranging features differ by model.

Optics and range

Test visible camera, zoom/focus and any ranging function separately under documented conditions.

Mount safety

Power off before detaching the payload. Check contacts and gimbal motion without forcing or misaligning parts.

Return to service

Verify image, control and any range workflow in a controlled test before operational use.

DJI Zenmuse H30 — frequently asked questions

Which DJI aircraft is the DJI Zenmuse H30 compatible with?
DJI lists Matrice 400; Matrice 350 RTK; Matrice 300 RTK (DJI RC Plus required for M300). Confirm the exact aircraft, gimbal port and current aircraft/remote firmware before mounting.
What type of payload is the DJI Zenmuse H30?
The DJI Zenmuse H30 is a multi-sensor zoom payload (zoom + wide + LRF + NIR aux light).
How much does the DJI Zenmuse H30 weigh?
170×145×165 mm / 920±5 g.
What is the DJI Zenmuse H30's ingress protection (IP) rating?
IP54. Payloads are weather-resistant, not waterproof — never submerge them.
What should I check if DJI Zenmuse H30 has a problem?
For a visible-image, zoom, focus or ranging problem, check the exact model, settings, target conditions and mount/firmware path first. These symptoms do not establish a failed camera or laser module by themselves.
Where can I get a DJI Zenmuse H30 repaired?
Request an assessment through Reboot Hub. Serviceability, parts, cost and timing depend on the exact unit and are confirmed before a repair is accepted. Open a repair ticket.
Does Zenmuse H30 have a thermal imager?
No. H30 has zoom and wide visible-light cameras, a laser rangefinder and an 850 nm NIR auxiliary light. The 1280×1024 thermal imager belongs to H30T. The f/0.95 and 45.2° values are H30T thermal-lens specs, not NIR-light specifications.
